Citizen survey on weather warnings
Did you receive an SMS from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute today? Then you have been selected for a citizen survey about weather warnings.
The Norwegian Meteorological Institute is currently implementing the project Impact-based hazard warning for society (K2S). The goal of the project is to provide societal actors and the Norwegian population with better support in the face of hazardous weather conditions.
In order to be able to warn in line with how the weather is experienced, the Norwegian Meteorological Institute needs to know the societal actors well, know what they need, and understand how weather warnings are used by the citizens.
In collaboration with Verian, the Meteorological Institute sends SMS to residents in municipalities that have received a weather warning, for some selected weather events. It can be a warning about different types of weather, for example gusts of wind, torrential rain, snow or lightning.
Those selected to participate in the survey will receive an SMS with the sender ‘MET’. The link in the SMS provides access to the questionnaire. It takes 5-10 minutes to answer all questions.

The survey is anonymous and all results will be presented as summarized data, which can not be linked back to you. The survey is conducted by the polling company Verian on behalf of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute.
NB! We will never ask you to provide confidential information, passwords, BankID or credit card numbers.
Your answers are important, and we hope you take the time to answer!
